Day 1 - Great Start
Its hard to rest when you are worried if you will wake up on time.
Wakey⌚ wakeyFather gettime fuckedbeat me this day.
I will begin at the beginning of the day. I woke up at 4am, with around 4 hours of sleep. Yay.With Butthe I'mlimited feelingamount fine.of sleep, I was surprised I was awake as I was. I got all my gear ready the night before, and I'm ready to do this.
I had to see how much sleep I got the night before, it wasn't much. But it would work for a bit.
UberMy picksgrumpy meass upall aready fewto leave
I got downstairs of the apartment around 15 mins earlybefore afterthe uber was meant to be there. When I checked the app, I noticed he was already there waiting for me. So I shot him a message askingin ifthe app, and he was ready.happy Dudeenough to pull around and get started early.
He was TIRED.tired. ThinkI itam mustalmost havecertain beenthat histhe lastbegging jobof my day, was the end of his. But he was cool. Yawed most of the night.drive Beginningto the airport. But he helped me with my bag which was nice. I did sit beside him, not sure if most people sit in the back of my day.
Dude was chill, car was a rusted out honda civic, uber but I meanwanted dudefront was chill. Tired but chill.I totally pulled the sit beside him move. I don't like sitting in the back.seat.
💼 The Airport
Arrived to the airport with plenty of time. DickedWalked up to the bag check, attempted to check my bag, but it wouldn't actually take my card. Not sure if I not focused because of the sleep withdrawal, but it then screwed up the app. So I had to wait in the bag check shit, line. but I will do that in app next time I think. For whatever reason, I couldn't figure out how to use the bloody check in thing. Didn't want to take my card so idfk.Waited in line to see the bag check lady. Great.
While waiting forever, there was a fairly large family was in the express line.line, Mostthe likelynext aroundline 5over. or so people I think.
Anyway I know one of themThere was a mentally handicapped gentleman.gentleman in this group of people, and I believe he got extremelyvery nervous, nervous and then just threw up everywhere.twice all over the floor. Luckily Ihe was afar waysenough away, away andfor Iour don'tline thinknot anyoneto gotbe hit, involved directly in the splash zone.
No idea what he ate, but it was a fuckin lot.
When I got around that area (it was the next section over for priority boarding), and good lord whatever he ate I never seen come back up.Fucking bright green with wackwhat looked like cheezie chunks. Absolutely disguising.Amazing. I knew atfrom this point on, this daytrip was at least going to be at least interesting).interesting.
✈️ The Plane
It took off, it flew like planes do, then it landed. Upright. I did watch Napoleon Dynamite for the first time.
When I landed and turned airplane mode off on my phone, I got a message from my mother more or less in a panic.SomeoneShe was just watching the news and saw that there was a godperson damnshot shoot out happened inat the Torontoairport Pearsonat airport.Terminal In1. Police where everywhere, and terminal 1.1 THEwas SAMEshut TERMINALdown. Well the departing side of it was. So I WASwas LANDING IN!fine.
Told her I just landed, everything was fine. The shooting happened on the passenger departdeparting side of things. I was on the arrival side.
The Torontofirst airportthing I remembered from the previous trip to Newmarket a few years ago with Conor, is actuallythat Toronto has really nice signage. It tells you where to go like a high way does. You find the thing you want and start walking. Just need to keep looking up at the signs.
Found my bag pretty nice.quick Theyat havethe signagereturn, EVERYWHERE.and Ifwas youable are looking up, you willto find outthe where you are going. I made it to thecar rental place without anymuch issue.effort.
🚘 The Car
Now to be fair, fair I am not upreally to date on mya car lore. The dude had a kona. Fine, it has apple carplay and wireless at that. Very nice. That is the biggest thingguy. I need.don't Adaptivekeep cruiseup waswith a nice touch.
The Car
The car sucks btw. I want my mazda back. That care is bliss. The kona is cringe. I got on the highway and needed to gain speed, cars, and I putreally don't know much about the various "consumer" models. I like fast cars like most guys, but I just don't care about the every day car you know?
The car rental place gave me a Hyundai Kona. Neat looking car is what Ill say about it. It tries to look futuristic without really being it. But hey it had Apple Carplay so it worked for me.
However I do miss my foot down to see if she would go. Mazda.
It doesn't really have much power too it. I put my foot down, the revs went super high and she was getting loud! She had a mad little engine in her! The rev's keep climbing and climbing and the speed was barely moving. Like nothing would happen. Acceleration was so slow. I amreally so used to drivingmiss my mazda now and I miss her. She has been in the service department for most of the week for a battery problem. Its complicated.Mazda.
OhThe btwgauge cluster is somewhat interesting. Its full screenLCD gaugewhich clustersis... areok... stupidBut btw.I Thefeel mazdalike the info given isn't that good. My Mazda has onea display I can switch to that gives me info about the cruise control, but its really good because the screen is under some nice glass, and deep in the cabin enough for it to be fine during the bright day. Thisthis does not. TheNot sunreally glarea onfan.
But what I do actually somewhat like is the display, touchscreen. plusIts thenot displaybad. beingIt kinda dark is a problem. Put real gauges in you twats.
The main display seamed tomust be 120hz. SmoothThe smoothness on various things like Apple Carplay actually look real nice. I do like that.
At the same time, its touchscreen. I am used to the Mazda control wheel so I don't have to look and nice.poke. ButI thehave andoidoften system its based on has a hard time rendering the animationsreached for the highscroll resolution.wheel Regardlessand the backup camera I think is also in 60fps or something. Its nice actually. Butrealizing its not where near my backup cameras on my Mazda.there.
Regardless,If itsanything, fine.it Its kinda zoomy. Remindsreminds me of my micraMicra actually.on Biggerstilts. whichI know that this is nice.more Butor no guts. Ohless the suspensionpath iscars alsoare likegoing high, these rimsdays, small. In all consideration its not a terrible car. Its just not for me. Again I havemiss tomy assume it was a mini-ified other model car or something.
Mazda.
The only thing good about it, is its auto cruise control. The thing that keeps you from a certain distance from the car ahead of you. The mazdaMazda has this feature but its not as good as the Kona.
The issue with my car that I have with my car is that if someone changes lanes into my lineline, my Mazda will slam on the breaks pretty hard to maintain a distance from the other car, than to use it as a buffer. This ruins the cruise of the guy behind me and then... Well traffic jam. I will often turn my auto cruise off or press down the accelerator when I know someone is entering.
entering, just until I meancan get back to the Konadistance isI FINE,have But its Micra mentality. Need something that will work. LOL maybe ill do the upgrade next time and get the company to charge me for it.set.
😴 Pure Exhaustion
Once I arrivedarrived, I was ampedready to go. Amped to get things done. Got to the new location after walking right past the big sign, and asked what the progress was. The forman on sight let me know that they had the existing cabling there, just needed to hook it up.Power was first, then it was data (ethernet). They had electrical problems trying to get it hooked up, but they did eventually.
While I was waiting, I went to the other 2 stores, and just ripped apart their old network, and stole whatever needed to come back and throw them in a box. We have two sights equipment ready to ship from the Envy store. Ill remind them in an email.
To burn some time I got some lunch at Gheezed, a fancy ass grilled cheese place in the mall. Not bad. Good sandwich. This is when I started to notice how tired I was.
To burn more time I walkedWalked around the mall a bit, looked at all the stores, and the food court. Quite the interesting selection.
I couldn't find the new store location, but after asking one of the girls at the Pseudio, she was able to point me in the right direction. I did walk right buy the big construction cover thing the store was behind. Ooops.
Spoke with Joe, the foreman, and none of the cabling was done yet. No power or ethernet. He did say he would get his guy to get it done soon.
So I went intoto the two other stores, let them know who I was, and then ripped down their old networking gear before the GoCo take over happened. Good to get all that stuff done now! Threw it all in a indigobox (including a spare POS laying around) and maytold havethem foundto aship bookit Iback mightto like.Head StevenOffice Kingsmarked Gunslinger.for May be worth picking up.IT.
After doingthat I went back to check in, Joe said it still wasn't ready. No problem, I went to get some lunch.
I knew there was a Chick-Fil-A somewhere close by. So I walked through the food court. Nothing. I went up a floor thinking it may be two layered. It wasn't. Couldn't find it. So I settled for Cheezed! A interesting little sandwich shop that serves grilled cheeses.
I honestly forget what I ordered. But it was really good. Cheese was all melty and checkinggooey. back,I theyshould wherehave stilltaken workinga picture of it.
I sat down to eat it and noticed something. I realized I was already tired. It had snuck up on me and now it butwas starting to show. So I brushed it off and went back to work.
I went back to the internetPseudio, installand guygrabbed arrived.all the equipment I spokehad shipped to himthem abouton whatMonday. They had a little dolly wheel thing which was goingfine. Arrived at the new store, and started unpacking a cash. Trying to get it ready. Still no power or ethernet. The GoCo installer was there too, and after meeting him, agreeing on anda allplace wasto well.
put the access point, I went back to unpacking the cash.
After unpacking Cash 1, Ithat wasfeeling done.overwhelmed me. I was beyondexhausted. exhaustedDrained. Done. I started to grab the second monitor for Cash 2 and couldgave feelup. Said nope fuck it. LegsI weak, couldn't armskeep heavy, going.
Told momsthe spaghetti.data / electrician guy that I didwas tell a dude I leftleaving before I left, buttold him to contact Conor if he needed anything.
I got the GoCoto engineerthe washotel, hardunpacked atand work. Someone knew at least. I wasthen just tired.passed out.

Picture of the hotel room andbefore PASSEDI OUT after bringing up my luggage. It was only for about half an hour but it helpedmade a lot.
mess of it. The brick wall is fake by the way.
The Weather
Arriving in Toronto wasn't bad. Warm. Nice and warm. I like the heat. I think when I landed, it was around 15C which was like a hot day in Halifax. When I was in the mall taking down the networks, I made my way outside to move the car and it was pouring rain. I got a bit wet, but I grabbed my jacked from the car going back in.
Then I get out, and its super sunny. Beautiful. And like 20C. It felt amazing to be out in the sun again. Nice warm sun.
Stayed sunny right till the very end too.
I think the next two days are going to be majority of rain. Which kinda sucks. But its fine. Days in Ottawa look real nice.
Now🌯 Food
ILaptop, amAlly, sittingand herethe afterempty grabbingwrapping of a jointFat fromBastard Burrito
After my short nap, I knew I needed some food. Found a place on Google Maps called "Fat Bastard Burrito". It was just up the road and I knew I needed it. Before I ended up there I visited a local cannabis place, store. When I walked in, she greeted me right away, and eatinghelped me out with picking a massivesingle. burritoShe fromeven gave me a littlepack placeof called, rolling andpaper for free with a discount code on the back. Cool place.
After scoring some drugs, I amthen notgot kidding,my Fat Bastard Burrito.
When ItsI justgot back, had half of the joint, then came back inside and devoured the burrito. I didn't think I was going to eat the entire thing but it didn't stand a habanero's.chance. But I sit here and type this entry upjumped into mybed, first ever long distance trip alone let alone for the company. I mean I went to Yarmouth and it went fine I think.
I have my laptop tethered to my work laptop, writing this. Unfortunately the hotel WIFI is 100% insecure. Which sucks. So I get to use data. Luckily I have downloaded a bunch of stuff to my phone, so I can always watch that. I forgot to bring my wireless charger so I am charging it fully now.
But I am exhausted. I can feelwith my eyes fading.closing before my head hit the pillow.
